Description
The Epiphone Les Paul Muse takes the legendary design of a classic Gibson and updates it with a modern mindset. The Muse has a lightweight, chambered body loaded with high-output Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers, plus dual coil split and phase controls for maximum sonic versatility. It is an ideal instrument for players who want a maple-topped guitar that can do it all.
Les Paul Muse Main Features
Chambered okoume body and maple top finished in metallic gloss
Okoume neck with custom C-profile, Indian laurel fretboard with 12″ radius
Dual Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers, coil spit and phase switches, 3-way toggle, treble bleed
LockTone ABR bridge, stopbar tailpiece, Grover Rotomatic tuners with 18:1 gear ratio
Lightweight Body Construction
Epiphone chose okoume for the body, a lightweight tonewood from Central Africa with a full frequency response. A maple top emphasizes higher frequencies. The body is chambered for further weight reduction. It also features a rear contour or “belly scarf” which makes for more comfortable play.
Neck Construction
The Muse has a set-in okoume neck with a custom C-profile. The fretboard is Indian laurel, with a standard 12″ Les Paul radius. It has with 22 medium jumbo frets with classic trapezoid inlays.
Les Paul Muse Electronics
Epiphone’s Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers have the warmth of vintage pickups, but are made with strong Alnico V magnets. The result is a ‘bucker with a stronger output, more bass and a brighter tone. Both pickups can be split for single-coil sounds; a phase switch opens up the PROs for a more-hollow tone. A treble bleed circuit lets the highs pass through even at lower volumes.
Foolproof Hardware
The Muse has a LockTone ABR bridge with adjustable saddles for precise intonation, combined with a failsafe stopbar tailpiece. Grover Rotomatic tuners enable accurate tuning with an 18:1 gear ratio.
Other high-quality specifications include a GraphTech nut, nickel pickup covers and clear speed knobs.
